Icons and Status Notifications

Icons are grouped along the top and bottom of the screen.  Along the bottom is the favorites tray and along the top are the Notifications and Status icons that tell you of new events and the status of your device.

The top left side contains the notification icons of new email messages, calendar events, alarms, and any in-progress downloads such as app updates or video downloads.  On the top right side are status icons that give the status of the battery, the Wi-Fi strength, connection status, and pending alarms.

To view the notifications, swipe down from the top left half of the screen.  Some notifications can be expanded to show more information, such as Email previews or calendar events.  To dismiss a notification, just swipe left or right on it.

To view statuses, swipe down from the top right half of the screen.

Statuses

       Brightness level of display.

        Settings

     Wi-Fi strength.  The more bars the stronger the Wi-Fi signal.

            Battery status.

           Bluetooth feature is activated.

            Location detection enabled.

     Virtual mouse enabled.

          Fullscreen Mode disabled.  Touch to enable.  When the device is in Fullscreen Mode, the Navigation bar and System bar are hidden.

     SHIELD controller is connected.  White portion is the amount of charge remaining in the controller.

              SHIELD is connected to a computer.

            Device is in Airplane mode.  All functions are enabled except Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
